Our ferry, MV Pearl, the second marine vessel that plies the Masaka - Kalangala route through the Bukakata and Lukku -Bugoma docking piers has returned after servicing and upgrade.

The Marine Vessel had been transported to Kisumu, Kenya for overhaul. MV Pearl has today 19th August 2019, officially resumed the usual operations after undergoing sea worthy tests at Port Bell, the vessel's port of Origin.

While on service, MV Pearl was installed with high tech navigation systems that allow operators circumnavigate around the equator's north and south poles with ease. The Vessel's hull and ballistic tanks were also checked to ascertain whether they have any damage before she was repainted and upgraded. The vessel's lavatory systems have also been reopened.

This dry-docking (overhaul) activity is part of the continous periodical routine maintenance program aimed at checking vessel's viability to transport people and cargo to and from Kalangala.

Dont miss out on the New Ferry Timetable.
