GUIDELINES / PROCEDURES ON WATER CONNECTIONS

CATEGORY1: Existing Kalangala Town Council Customers

• Need to fill an application form

Requirements:

• LC 1 Letter
• 1 Passport photo
• Photocopy of National ID and photocopy of land title or land agreement.
• Initial deposit of UGX 50,000/= (should be banked and the bank slip brought to KIS offices)

CATEGORY2: NEW CUSTOMERS

• Need to fill an application form
• KIS technical team makes a survey

Requirements:

• LC 1 Letter
• 1 Passport photo
• Photocopy of National ID and photocopy of land title or land agreement.

Charges:

• UGX 100,000/= connection fees – for customers in a distance not more than 50meters from an existing water pipeline.
• UGX 50,000/= Initial deposit fee

NB: The money should be banked, and the bank slip brought to KIS offices.

• Actual connection done within one week.

FREE ELECTRICITY CONNECTION GUIDELINES ON BUGALA ISLANDA

Eligibility for free Connection:

The Premises;

1. Should be located within 90m from the low voltage electricity pole.
2. Should have been wired for single-phase electricity connection, no pole or 1-pole service.

STEPS

1.Get a certified electrician to wire your premises and issue you a wiring certificate.

2.Submit your documents to any of the KIS offices; Kalangala Head office or Mulabana or Bbeta office;

• Wiring certificate
• 2-passport size photos
• Photocopy of your I.D
• L.C. letter or Land tittle or land agreement or proof of landownership
• Filled-in Wayleave form

3.Apply for electricity connection by;

• Filling in an application form
• Paying inspection fees, Ugx 20,000/=

4.Your premises or house or property will be surveyed, inspected and connected if passed.

5.When connected, you are thereafter advised to buy and load enough electricity units to your service meter.
